That sentence is required by Amazon, and it’s the short version. Here’s the longer one, because you should know exactly what the incentives are on a site that recommends things to buy.
What the links are
Some links to products on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something within 24 hours, Amazon pays this site a small percentage of the sale. You pay exactly the same price — the commission comes out of Amazon’s margin, not your wallet.
Affiliate links are marked in the page’s HTML with rel="nofollow sponsored",
which is the standard machine-readable signal for paid links, and every page
that contains them says so near the links themselves.
What it doesn’t change
- No one pays to be on the list. No brand has ever paid for placement here, and if that ever changes, the post will say so at the top in plain language, not in a footer.
- The reason comes first. Every recommendation on this site explains what the tool changes about the food. If the reason isn’t convincing, don’t buy it — the recommendation has failed, not you.
- “Skip this” is a valid answer. Several recipes here call for equipment you can improvise with a bowl and a fork, and they say so. A site that never tells you to save your money isn’t worth reading.
Other ways this site makes money
There aren’t any. Affiliate commission is the only revenue here. No display advertising, no sponsored posts, no paid reviews, no paid newsletter placements, no paid product mentions.
This site used to carry display ads and no longer does. That’s partly principle and partly arithmetic: ad networks only pay meaningfully at a scale this site hasn’t reached, while the cost lands on you regardless — slower pages, third-party tracking, and layout that shifts under your thumb halfway through a recipe. The only thing loaded from a third party now is analytics, covered in the privacy policy.
If you’d rather not
Entirely fair. You can search for any product mentioned here directly, and the recipes are complete and free either way — nothing is paywalled or held back. Sharing a recipe with someone who’d like it helps this site more than a click does.
